Do your dolls ever have a high-class cocktail party to go to? We bet they do!
That's why one of our designers came up with this very fashionable, upgraded Dolly-outfit: a stylish, elegant party dress with some of our most-loved fabrics!
It's so easy to make, too: The dress is simply a Dolly-pattern with a skirt underneath. We didn't even design a new pattern for this skirt! Our designer drew a Dolly-pattern, cut off the top to make it a skirt, and then added a few centimeters (or an inch) to the bottom. Of course, you can elongate the skirt as much as you like. Then just put on the skirt first and then the dress on top of it!
To add an extra fun detail to this beauty, our designer added a pretty purple bow on the Dolly top.
A quick recap: You draw the Dolly-pattern twice (it works best with two different fabrics), keep one as is, and modify the other by cutting off the top and making it longer on the bottom.
Do you like this outfit? It was made with the "Pastel"-Fabric set and the Dolly Pattern:

Good luck to all kids on their first day of school, and to all parents who dropped them off!
The Spanish blogster Ana Maria (find her blog Frikymama here) organized a super cosy workshop in her home for three girls to get to know DressYourDoll! Two Barbie dolls and a Monster High doll got some pretty fabulous fashion makeovers (while a pretty unlucky Furby served as a pin cushion!). They all got going using some fabric sets, a Maggy Flamenco (for that Spanish vibe!) and a few workshop outfits. Take a look at the photos below to see what a wonderful day they had!
Her original post is in Spanish, but if you drop it into Google Translate, you can read her full review.
A whole wardrobe full, and nothing to wear: Our dolls face these problems every day! But we gotta hand it to them, it's difficult to pick an outfit when you have so many outfits to choose from. Today, our doll is deciding what to wear with her stylish red pants: an oversized, graphic sweater? Maybe a short jacket with gold buttons? A pink top eighties crop top? Or an ever so elegant flower blouse with butterfly sleeves?
Maybe she should try them on and see what looks best.
Well, that doesn't help at all: everything looks stunning!
You know what? Next week, we'll take a detailed look at every outfit, and for now, let's concentrate on those drop dead gorgeous pants!
Here's a very handy and clear guide to how you can make those pants yours:
1- Cut out two pants-pieces. The shape is exactly the same, but take a closer look at the dotted lines: When you match up the colored lines, that's where you'll be sewing!
2- Start with the green and blue dotted lines. Fold both pieces closed and sew along the dotted lines.
3- Turn one of the pieces inside out.
4- Now, slide the inside-out piece inside the other one as shown. Make sure the seams line up.
5-6- Sew along the pink and orange line as shown. You can leave a small part open so your doll's beautiful butt can fit, but if you use stretchy fabric and regular Barbie doll, or even better, our very own DressYourDoll-doll, you can sew along the whole edge and it'll fit nice and snuggly.
7- Now turn everything inside out, and your pants are done!
