Hike to the peak!

Sofie Claes May 14, 2019

Hi there, worldtravelers!

After strolling around in the picturesque Prague in the Czech Republic, I traveled to the country right next to it: Slovakia. Time to hit the woods and go hiking in the mountains!

Did you know in Slovakia they celebrate their name day? Every day of the year corresponds with several names. When a child is born, they get a name that’s in the list of name days. Celebrating your name day is almost as important as celebrating your birthday in Slovakia! Unfortunately my name is not in the list, because it’s not a Slovak name. But I love this tradition!

Does your country have a tradition like this?

 Bye,

 Dollie

A dive into history in the Czech Republic

Sofie Claes May 7, 2019

Hi guys,

I arrived at the Czech Republic today. This is a cute country with a lot of history. On the picture I’m standing on the Charles Bridge in Prague. This bridge is a famous one that’s build over the Moldawa in Prague. The bridge connects the Old Town with the neighbourhood Malá Strana. King Charles IV put the first stone of the bridge on July 9th, 1357. At first, the bridge was called ‘Stone Bridge’, but in 1870 they changed it to Charles Bridge.

The bridge is 516 meters long and almost 10 meters wide. It’s decorated with 30 statues. Most of them in the style of baroque, placed there between 1683 and 1714. Quite old, huh? Did you know the historical city center of Prague is on the list of UNESCO world heritage? So much history contained by one city. It’s amazing!

I’m going to stroll around in this cozy city.

Bye!

Dollie

Norway in a sleigh

Sofie Claes April 23, 2019

Hello there!

From chilly Denmark to freezing Norway. It’s a small step for a doll like me, but a huge change in temperature :). Lucky for me, I have my most comfy knit sweaters with me. With a scarf and hat I’m all prepared for a night in an iglo. Another experience on the bucketlist checked off!

Later on I’m going to find out if I can go sledding.

These are my last weeks in the colder countries. For the summer I’m going South.

What’s your favourite holiday, to the sun or to the snow?

Let me know!

Bye!

Dollie

Layering up in Denmark

Sofie Claes April 16, 2019

Hi guys!

This week, I’m visiting Denmark. The one thing that’s predictable in Denmark is that the weather is unpredictable. Not easy to dress for a short stop in Denmark, that means! That’s why I learned to layer. If the weather goes from chilly to sunny, I can easily take off my coat.

For today I chose my Betty Shoe-outfit, as it has a nice long coat.

What is your favourite layering piece?

 Let me know!

 Cheers,

 Doliie

Lithuanian strolls

Sofie Claes April 9, 2019

Hi there!

Lithuania has a lot of green parks to stroll around. The sping sun is perfect for long walks and coffee on a terrace.

Two weeks ago I was in Scotland, where I made myself a kilt, the typical scottisch skirt. I also made a matching top to go with it. Find the tutorial for the top here:

What kind of tutorial would you like to see on the blog? Let me know!

Love,

Dollie
