Cultural afternoon in Madrid

Sofie Claes January 22, 2019

Hi guys!

My last week in Spain! I’m in Madrid for the moment. I decided to fill my afternoon with some cultural activities. When in Madrid, you can’t miss the Prado Museum. So that’s where I’m heading today.

In the Prado you can find a lot of classic paintings by famous painters like Rubens, Botticelli, Caravaggio and Velàzquez.

Did you know we have our own artistic pieces in the Dress Your Doll-collection? We have a dress that’s inspired by the pop-art of Andy Warhol, a dress that’s inspired by Roy Lichtenstein and his cartoon art and also a dress that’s based on the neoplasticism of Piet Mondriaan.

So you can walk around as a real piece of art if you want!

I’m going to take a stroll around the museum.

 See you later!

Hiking in Spain

Sofie Claes January 15, 2019

Hi there,

I’m still in Spain. Today I visited El Caminito Del Rey. El Caminito Del Rey is a hiking trail that was built between 1901 and 1905. It was originally used to transport people and products between the two factory’s at both sides of the ravine El Chorro. But it was only opened in 1920 when King Alfonso XIII walked the whole trail and named it El Caminito Del Rey. It’s one of the biggest wonders of Spain.

El Chorro Gorgeo (La Garganta del Chorro) is a beautiful place you cross while walking the trail. It has giant cliffs of 400 meter high, the whole 3 kilometers. I had the most amazing walk!

What is the most beautiful hike you did? Tell me in the comments!

 Love,

 Dollie

Park Güell

Sofie Claes January 8, 2019

Hi there!

So much to do here in Spain. Last week I celebrated the new year in a dog shelter, doing some voluntary work. This week I thought it was time for a touristic day in the city. I went to Park Güell in Barcelona, designed by the architect Antoni Gaudi.

Do you ever take your dolls on a holiday or trip? Then you might find them getting dirty along the way. For this, I have a great tip: use toothpaste to remove dirt! Even marker stains disappear with a touch of toothpaste. And for tangled hair, a little fabric softener can do wonders. Your doll will be shining as new!

 Enjoy your day!

New year, new me!

Sofie Claes January 1, 2019

Happy New Year, guys!

The first day of the new year is always something special. It’s a new start, time to become the best version of yourself. For me this means making some resolutions for the new year.

I’m already fulfilling the first one: volunteering a little more. Today I’m helping out at a dog shelter in Spain. So many dogs are all alone on the streets and the shelter is helping them get fed and walked with.

As promised, here’s the tutorial on how to make the shirt that goes with the dungarees I made last week.

Have fun!

 Dollie

The mountains are calling!

Sofie Claes December 25, 2018

Hi there,

After the warm Chili I just landed in the less warm Switzerland. Walking the Swiss Alps was on my bucketlist for along time already. For these walks, the proper outfit is necessary. That’s why I made myself a very comfy dungaree. It keeps me warm and is easy to walk in. If you want to make it yourself, here’s movie which explains how to do it! Next week I’ll post a video on how to make the shirt I’m wearing underneath my dungarees.

 Have fun!

 Dollie
